Who we are

VOD was the brainchild of musicians and music lovers wanting to make one-off and short-run vinyl accessible to everyone. Founded in 2015 by David Freel (of the band Swell) and Jen Dawson in Portland, Oregon. They built the business from the ground up using existing technology and developing new proprietary tech to keep up with the growing demand for vinyl records.

David Freel sadly passed in 2022, leaving Jen to pick up the pieces and try to keep the ideas afloat, and the business alive. She asked David’s previous collaborator in Swell, Monte to come in as the audio director. Together they’ve relaunched and are moving forward with new engineer, Nick, to bring all the proprietary technology online.
